Graphic Expression: from Drawing to Prints
Explore personal expression through drawing and learn appropriate technical and formal means to reproduce drawings through printmaking. Work on artist’s proofs to adjust to the original, thus producing a possible sequence of prints; create a charcoal drawing over a monoprint, an ink-stain on a woodcut/linoleum, or a pencil sketch on dry point plate. Develop expression in drawing and the varied ways it corresponds to graphic techniques of relief, monotype, and intaglio, as well as to theoretical aspects of lithography (Pronto Plate) and silkscreen, emphasizing use of less-toxic techniques. All materials will be provided.
