Like all carnivals that come to town for a short period of time and provide a festive atmosphere, The Art Carnival presented at The Art Barge condenses an art education program into an extravaganza that blends carnival, nautical, and modern art experience for people of all ages. The Art Carnival and The Art Barge together provide a motivational setting for people of all ages to switch gears, get inspired, and harness creative energy that will last through the season.
We look forward to sharing The Art Carnival experience with you!

THE ART CARNIVAL: A STEAM Program for Schools
As a community organization, The Victor D’Amico Institute of Art is delighted to invite select schools to participate in a program that includes educational resources and a field trip experience based on The Art Carnival at The Art Barge this Spring.
This program and its resources will be made available to educators to integrate into their current classroom curriculum and to be used as extensions.
The Art Carnival classroom connection will introduce learners and educators to a STEAM-based, Common Core-aligned program of arts integration using the free-choice learning approach pioneered by Victor D’Amico.
Following a pre-visit introduction in the classroom, students will come to The Art Barge, where they will interact with motivational ‘art toys’ in The Barge Gallery. Once inspired they will proceed to the Upper Deck Studio to engage freely in art making processes such as collage and painting under the guidance of our monitors. The overall experience encourages children’s exploration of their creative potential: the power to create.
We are offering this program in 2020 for children in Grades 3 to 5, with the onsite portion to be held during the first two weeks of June, Monday to Friday, from 10 am to 12 pm.
Teachers and administrators, please contact Esperanza Leon at The Victor D’Amico Institute of Art by email firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 631.267.3172 for details and to reserve.
